Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Feyona and Web3 banking

Getting Started

What is Feyona?

Feyona is a Web3 crypto neobank that provides self-custodial USDC accounts with traditional banking features like virtual debit cards, ACH/wire transfers, and global payments. We bridge the convenience of traditional banking with the freedom of blockchain technology.

How do I get access to Feyona?

Feyona is currently invitation-only. Request access by emailing info@usefeyona.com. We'll invite you to our early access program subject to available spots. Public access will be available soon.

What countries is Feyona available in?

Feyona is designed for global access with support for 200+ countries. We offer local currency off-ramps for Nigeria (NGN), India (INR), Ghana (GHS), Kenya (KES), Philippines (PHP), and more regions coming soon.

Self-Custody & Security

What does self-custody mean?

Self-custody means you have complete control and ownership of your digital assets. You hold the private keys to your wallet, not Feyona. This ensures that only you can access, move, or spend your funds. Feyona never has custody of your assets.

Is my money safe with Feyona?

Yes. Your digital assets are held in a self-custodial wallet that only you control. Feyona never has access to your private keys or funds. For USD deposits held at Lead Bank before conversion to USDC, FDIC insurance applies up to $250,000 per depositor.

What happens if I lose my private keys?

Since Feyona operates on a self-custodial model, we cannot recover lost private keys. However, we use Privy's secure wallet infrastructure with recovery mechanisms to help you maintain access. Always store your recovery phrase securely.

Does Feyona store my personal information?

No. While our partner Bridge performs KYC verification for banking features (required by regulation), Feyona does not store your personal information. Your data is handled securely by our regulated partners.

USDC & Stablecoins

What is USDC?

USDC (USD Coin) is a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar. It's issued by regulated financial institutions and backed by fully reserved assets. USDC combines the stability of the dollar with the speed and global accessibility of blockchain technology.

Why use USDC instead of regular USD?

USDC offers instant global transfers 24/7, lower fees than traditional banking, and complete self-custody. You can send USDC anywhere in the world in seconds, spend it with your Feyona debit card, or convert it to local currencies.

What other stablecoins does Feyona support?

In addition to USDC, Feyona will support USDT (Tether), EURC (Euro Coin), and PYUSD (PayPal USD) to provide flexibility across different ecosystems and currencies.

Is USDC FDIC insured?

No. USDC and other cryptocurrencies are not FDIC insured. However, USDC is backed 1:1 by cash and short-term US Treasury bonds held by regulated financial institutions. Only USD deposits held at Lead Bank before conversion are FDIC insured.

Banking Features

How do I fund my Feyona account?

You can fund your account via ACH transfer or wire transfer in USD. Funds are sent to Lead Bank and instantly converted to USDC in your self-custodial wallet. You can also deposit USDC directly from other wallets or exchanges.

Can I get a physical debit card?

Yes! Feyona offers both virtual and physical debit cards that let you spend your USDC anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted. Your USDC is automatically converted at the point of sale.

Are there fees for using Feyona?

Feyona is free to use. We generate revenue through transaction fees, FX spreads on currency conversions, and card interchange fees. There are no monthly account fees or minimum balance requirements.

How do global transfers work?

You can send funds via ACH, wire transfer, or blockchain rails. Blockchain transfers are instant and available 24/7. You can also withdraw to local currencies in supported regions through our payment partners.

KYC & Compliance

Why do I need to complete KYC?

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is required by US regulations for banking services like ACH/wire transfers and debit cards. Our partner Bridge performs KYC to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements.

What information is required for KYC?

You'll need to provide basic identification information such as your full name, date of birth, address, and a government-issued ID. This is standard for all regulated financial services.

Is Feyona regulated?

Feyona partners with regulated entities to provide compliant banking services. Lead Bank (Member FDIC) provides banking services, and Bridge manages program operations. We comply with all applicable federal and state regulations.

Technical

What blockchains does Feyona support?
